. I'm about to try my 4th bedcap's bios version for the r530. Fingers crossed.
Unfortunately Samsung's bios download is a windows flash app that i can't run..maybe someone in badcaps knows how?

ok 4th bios starts the laptop but only as far as blank screen, then white, then red etc you get the picture. Doas the issue lay elswhere?

what faulty hardware could cause this?

Check the LCD cable is connected correctly on the motherboard and scréen

Cycling colours usually an LCD cable or screen issue

Cycling colors on screen means lcd is not receiving all input signals.

Thanks , cap locks doesn't work and hdmi/vga not working, with or witout lcd. No gpu to talk of other than pch and cpu?..

i think the board is freezing/waiting,,,?

I'm new to this and wondering where/how to check (regarding input signal) from - to?

Any help appreciated

You are not getting display as mb is not posting. You need to measure whether all power rails are generated or not as per schematic. Then need to measure powergood signals of PWM's.

The start button is a little hit and miss and won,t always start straight away, usually 5 attempts later, just another symptom that might be relevant?

The start button in samsung is always like that. Not an issue here.
