So Ive aquired a rx6800xt which i believe was dropped at some point by previous owner, it artifacts (pixels shifting) in desktop and in 3dmark i get disco lights (multicoloured flashes. Ive ruled out the ram because I can mine eth (very ram dependent) or heavier algo's full power without issue or stale shares/errors. Ive tested resitances and they seem to be good on all points (12v, mem, pcie lanes etc). Under microscope theres no missing components. A repair guy said to me its likely dying core which got me thinking.
Since it was dropped is it possible some balls cracked under the gpu? I have a preheat table, decent hot air, might be worth a try reflowing it? I know reflow is pretty dumb most instances but does anyone think it might be worth a shot? at the very least to identify if this is the issue?
Is there anything else you think I should look at that would give me this weird behaviour?
