No difference between the USA is doing by collecting sales tax from e-commerce from everywhere no matter where it comes from so what the heck is the difference between and what any other country is doing everyone is greedy

This just started this year with eBay and PayPal and other online places of this is crap granted it might not be as much as vat but it just a matter of time before this happens

I am interested in buying one and I have been following this post

State, plus a fixed fee to local/end carrier.
Sam, what this means is that anyone in the EU has to pay customs on anything imported. That wouldn't be so bad, but the carriers have a part in it, and you could expect to pay $40 or more fee for the carrier to collect the import duties per package. All of a sudden, buying a pcb from china becomes prohibitive.

When I was working as a ROM maintainer for the samsung s3 I was going to ship my co-maintainer a debug cable that I soldered together. Basically two usb plugs and a few resistors. Problem was he was in canada, and he's have to pay $40 to the carrier to escort the package through customs, even on an item that was worth maybe $5... It's basically a deal breaker. Now they are doing it for the EU.

They really killed small scale innovation and hobbyists.

Agree... but that's not the main issue here! Plus, not only items from chin@, crap junk or not, are affected.
        See below...

Yes, carriers take a substantial cut when it comes to packages with small value.
Furthermore, they're the ones who decide if the item has a higher value then the one declared and it's up to you to issue a complain and prove it's not.

This is so disproportional, I can't even call it a "cut". That implies a percentage of the whole. This is akin to making any shipment cost a minimum of $50. Arguing over the value of the contents would likely only ever amount to a small part, i.e. 30% of $10 or $20. It's the customs escort fee that screws up everything.

It's possible that companies will have obtain a local reshipper, so they can batch shipments, splitting say 20 orders in a box to divide the customs escort fee, but a local reshipper is also going to cost money... The carriers are the true winners here.

Yet to be seen... afaik not yet available (central & east EU members).
That's a possibility i'm hopping for in a near future (since the exclusion on small values (less than 20€, including shipment) is months old.

It might get to point where buying anything outside of any country would cost you more than it would be worth which would slow down the world economy so let the ones who have control let them screw this up to and I hope they are happy with what they are doing

Well, it only benefits the big players. You might see individual chinese stores opening local warehouses like banggood and fasttech, or you might see ali open local distribution warehouses. Or amazon might just take over. I don't know which way it's going to go, but there's some opportunity there, but probably only for large players. It stomps out the litte guy buyers and sellers.

I misunderstood his last post on eevblog, it sounded to me like work was done, but he's still working out a few issues. He mentioned he should have it done relatively soon.

Need to stop wanting to buy single use tools, or design one. Alas it's all in the op amp...and if I could find a 16-bit ADC in my junk pile. Sigh. If only the AVRs I have had better than that 10 bit ADC, but maybe I just need to design with separate 0.001Ω to 1Ω and 0.1mΩ to 0.1Ω ranges.

Just buy one of these it will do the same (similar) job and also checks capacitors for ESR.

Well would be nice to go down to 100 µΩ resolution, that would be an order of magnitude better than my 3466A which resolve down to 1 mΩ, ± ?? counts.

                                          That was my first mistake
But this mistake was some how not copying and pasting the full code.
After thinking about it a bit I came to the conclusion Kripton would not have posted code that didn't work, so knew it was my error somewhere.
