Unable to dump Bios from A1466

    Hi,

I have an early 2015 Macbook Air (A1466) with a 820-00165-A logic board (which I've removed from the machine) and a MXIC MX25L6473EZNI chip.
I need to remove the EFI password but I am struggling to dump the bios.

I have tried both a TL866 Minipro and a CH341A (converted to 3.3v) in conjunction with a J6100 SPI programming cable to read the chip however both fail to even read the chip id?

A bit of Googling suggested supplying 3.3v to PP3V3_SUS but I wanted to confirm this is the correct course of action before doing so (and potentially blowing the board)?

    Thanks

applying voltage in chip programming is done by the programmer device. you must not apply voltage separately.
desolder the IC and place it on the programmer to read it.
