    Macbook Pro 15" 820-2850-A no PPBUS_G3H

Hello have same issues with 820-2850 MacBook.

not getting PPBUS_G3H after U7000 getting 18 volts in pin5 from Q7030 but not in pins 1,2 &3 pin-4 gate was also zero volts checking U7000 pin 24 CHRG UGATE has zero, verify pin-19 VDD has 5.1 volts, pin-3 CHRG ACIN has 7.61 volts, pin-2 CHRG DCIN 16.89 volts, has a green lights in mag safe which I have a 3.4 volts in pin 14 SMC BC ACOK.

what condition that U 7000 suppose to have in order to put high voltage in Q7030 Gate? what else do you think I can check further.
Thank you guys in advance for your big help

    Did you replaced U7000 already?

Did more testing found that Q7080 in reverse current protection side not getting the PPDCIN_G3H in pins 1 &2 ( no gate voltage in pin-3) but have 18 volts in pins 4&5 because pin 6 (gate has 17.2 volts)

Q7080 is control by U7000. Please check voltage divider R7081, R7080 the gate should be lower than the input voltage in order to open the MOSFET.

My U7000 VDD pin19 not getting the PP5V_CHGR_VDD which supposedly 5.1 volts but nothing where this PP5V_CHGR_VDD coming from?

pin-3 CHRG ACIN has 7.61 volts

pin 3 should get something like 4 volt check resistence R7010 r7011

              check R7021 r7022 value

Did check these resistor they came out good ( resistance value) but where is the PP5V1_CHGR_VDD to power U7000 coming from. I am not getting voltage values on the pins because U7000 is not power on pin-19 VDD 5.1 volts is missing

PP5V1_CHGR_VDD is created by the ISL6259 itself when it receives power on CHGR_DCIN.

can u try with another dc-in and psu ?
can u pass again lateral solder of u7000 with thin tip and flux+leaded solder ?

My board is 820-2850 so I don't have F7000 what I have is F7040 if that's what you mean, anyway it was 000.6 ohms, yes already replace U7000 and also did lot of flux to re-heat and performed lateral solder but don't have leaded solder so I used unleaded one. Use 85 watts Apple PS also bench PS set @ 18.5 volts with 4.6amps. And now is stop my bench PS about few seconds after apply voltage. Something shorting out but cannot find it I also use thermal gun but did not see something heating up. I am really confused now.

Thank you so much for your patience in giving me advice.

                                Re: Macbook Pro 15" 820-2850-A no PPBUS_G3H

yes i mean f7040. remove f7040, see if 12.5 volt comes in one side of f7040. check resistance in omh ( without power) on each poin of removed f7040. 1 side is PPBUS_G3H and other side is ppvbat_g3g_chrg_reg.

if low reading (Short) on one of this side do that:

if short is on PPBUS_G3H check u7201 if all looks ok. is so inject 1 volt and see if u7201 or something else get hot
if short is on ppvbat_g3g_chrg_reg check u7000 and inject 1 volt and see if something get hot near u7000

if nothing get hot, increase voltage step by step to max 2-3 volt.
