    UN65HU9000 T-con

I have a UN65HU900 that CD3011 on the T-con shorted. It has no markings. Dose anyone know what it may be? I can not find service info anywhere.

Please attach good clear pictures of the board so we can see what we are dealing with.

At the risk of sounding like a half a$$ed fix.. When i cant ID a part like that I usually look for an exact size match off a donor board, 9 times out of 10 the value is close enough that the circuit just dosent care.

What is the P/N of that ICD3?
i should be the same capacitance of the cap used on the left side of the board where it is connected to the same type of 6-pin IC on the left side..

The part numbers on the left are all the same less the 30. so CD3011 should be the same as CD11. I will see if I can get it off without killing it.

Does the tcon work without the cap ? You may have other problems beside it.

I have not tried it yet. I was going to hook it up to my bench supply and see if it has any other shorts. I have a replacement on the way. I like to try and fix things like this to learn.

I was able to hookup 12 volts to the board and nothing over heated. I have a new hot air station coming. I will see if I can find out what value CD3011 is.

It is a 10uƒ. With 12 volts applied the current is even lower then before I replaced it.

That has done the trick. It is working. I will let it run for eight hours tomorrow with the cove on to see how it goes.
