when xbox reballing got started, the chosen flux was SK10 from Kontakt-Chemie.

i dont do bga, but i do a lot of smd.
i have been using Future315 with good results.
i'm going to try the EC45 next.

that's the problem with fluxes - there are so many to test!

I have tried several brands and types of flux and Amtech is what has always worked best for me for rework.
I'm sure results vary and I have an ACHI IR PRO SC. that I am using.

the problem with Amtech is every factory in china now makes it.

The problem with CHINA is that they counterfeit EVERYTHING, and there are few (if any) quality standards or protections for the people making the products and/or those who use/consume them.
Add to this the consumer mentality that cheaper is most desirable.
I'm a firm believer in Gucci's adage (slightly modified):

"The bitterness of poor quality if remembered LONG after the sweetness of low price, is forgotten".

Re: My very first Rework flux by KINGBO Japan

in regards to any product and not just flux, i would buy it directly from the manufacturer or their approved reseller/ distributor

many have lists on website or by contacting them and then asking

                  amtech for a fact is a usa based company, so obviously dont buy it from china or japan etc;

Re: My very first Rework flux by KINGBO Japan

And therein lies (but one of) the problem(s) with Kingbo. There is no (genuine) manufacturer/website/point of contact. (IMHO) the product 'flies under the radar' due to the (unknown/unregulated) chemicals that it contains, which many countries would not allow to be produced within their borders (for safety reasons). Hence the reason that it is manufactured by a 'mystery' company, labeled with the claim of being produced in Japan (to give a false sense of security, quality) and sold so cheaply.

I use the product myself (for limited applications, with great trepidation, and PLENTY of ventilation), but I don't trust it to be safe to use and NEVER breathe the fumes produced by it.

(Your mileage may vary, especially if you are not concerned about the risk of developing any form of cancer)

                      not anymore.
most country's and people avoid japanese products like the radioactive plague now.
russia has sent back alot of cars that failed the geiger-counter test right off the boat too.
