    Yeah well you said it, I am aware of these and the hundreds of clones of these things which have been around for a good decade if not longer. And not at all what I am looking for, currently until I can find something more suitable I will stick with my current testing method.

      if you have to pull one out to test it best replace with new .if project fails they arent too difficult to remove and throw into the box with the rest of the new pulls .

        Your probably right there, most of the component pulls I make when servicing and repairing electronics are already known to me as bad. This is probably why I have yet to obtain a decent LCR / ESR tester, anything I do need to test more thoroughly I use a scope and function generator to do so. I was given a Peak Atlas component tester but despite it being an expensive one I dont think it does ESR.

          the peak does do esr - if it's the one for caps.
          what it wont show, unlike the chinese testers is leakage.
