    LG 47LN5750 Magic Remote

    Hello TV Gurus,
I would appreciate your help on the following. I bought a TV from a lady who claimed the Remote is inoperable. It's LG 47LN5750
Sure enough, it came with a Magic Remote AN-MR400k remote and almost all buttons work except the "OK" or pushing down on the wheel to Select / Enter / OK function.
Pressing the "1 2 3/ Q.Menu", or "Mic" on the remote, the TV responds on the screen with a message "To use this feature, you must register your Magic Remote"

Read the manual, held the Home and Back buttons to unpair, then pointed the remote on the TV and press / held the Select (pushing down on the wheel) and no luck.. I don't get the "registration Complete" or "registration Failed".. or .. nothing!

The lady said she bought another remote and it did the same thing (didn't work)
Lady I bought the TV from gave me another nugget. She stated that the TV had the main board replaced by LG for early under warranty failure. I opened the TV and it has part number EAX64872106 for a Main board

Help is much appreciated! thank you
P.S. the TV works beautifully with a regular LG remote control (yes, an option, but I'd like to know why the Magic Remote is not pairing or working with it)
    Thanks again

try first to reset the remote by Press the home and back button on the remote simultaneously for 5 seconds, you will have the LED on the remote blinks that mean remote rested, after that register it again by pointing the remote towards the television and press the scroll wheel AND “okay” button.

      Re: LG 47LN5750 Magic Remote

Thank you for the feedback.. maybe that's my problem.. I thought pressing the scroll wheel is the same as the OK button as well. Can you tell me where the Okay button is if it's different than pressing the scroll wheel?

The only other thing I can think of, is that maybe when the main board was replaced, LG didn't replace it with the right main board - rather with one that doesn't have the RF transceiver built-in? Could that be? I hope someone could verify that board that I have is indeed for the 47LN5750. I haven't figured out a way to get the TV to report it's own model number (I looked under help, and under Tech Support info.. no luck)
      Thanks again

Thanks.. that's the video I'm following. No luck..
Just upgraded firmware on the main board. That didn't help.

Could the Bluetooth module be dead? is there a way to test it out? none of my phones find the TV when I search.. but I don't know if they should anyway, even on functional Bluetooth.

            Re: LG 47LN5750 Magic Remote

at this case you need to log inside IN_START service menu to check if the Bluetooth turned on.. or you log at AZ_ADJ service menu to check option M.C 1 or 0... and check Bluetooth MAC address if its registered at the service menu or not.

also can you tell part number for a Main board after EAX64872106 which version 0.1? and the letters label printed over the EAX64872106

Edit: forget my pervious comment , i just went back to my archive service manuals and found yours set, on page 19 listed you don't have Magic Remote RF signal receiver built in, M.R its delivered with USB Dongle RF receiver. so ask the Lady where are the USB she may thought its of her family storage USB.

Yes, I replied before reading your edits.. in a hurry I guess
So My TV has a built-in Wifi and built-in Bluetooth. Manual (http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-47LN5750# ) doesn't seem to mention the dongle (though it makes sense), and it came with the Magic Remote. I will call the lady and find out, but I am having a hard time imagining it would need Bluetooth external with one built-in, unless Magic is different interface than BlueTooth

So manual for the AN-MR400 that I found online (http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-AN-MR400#) implies that a Dongle is built-in for the LN5750, see attached. Unless I'm reading that incorrectly - which would not be shocking!

I'll dig into the IN_START menu and see what I find..
                  Thanks again

You should have one of this INSIDE the TV.

Diah, please see the attachment in my last post to you, has page 3 of the manual, and it says "RF Dongle is Built in TV" for my TV's model number... Is that making sense?

if you are sure then you have one cable free in the set check all cable if there are one free.. also it should be at the middle front. you can easy take the section out and check after you may have one plug cable missing, and it should had 2 RF on this section one Infrarot and other Bluetooth RF

Show us the WHOLE backside of the TV so we can see all the boards.
So you do have the Bluetooth module inside the TV and the cables are attached to it..?

I'm not by the TV now, but yes, one cable has WiFi module and Bluetooth module both connected to the Motherboard (no bent pins or anything odd about the connection, and Wifi is connected to the internet.) TCon, Speakers, IR, and PS card.. nothing else - your usual LG setup.
