                Re: HP Elitebook 840 G2

I read all the 8 pages and posts and after several chip removal and reflashing i can say that i removed my HP Elitebook 840 G2 bios password.
To remove the password i removed the winbond chip and reflashed it but, the password still was there. After some tests i removed the MXIC ship and read it with the programmer. After that i used the HP Unlocker tool and unlocked the readed file from this chip. Then with the programmer i reflashed the MXIC chip with the new "unlocked" file. This procedure removed my bios password.

                Thanks for your replies.

Hello, I tried to flash the 25Q128A chip with several .bin files that I found in the pages of this thread until the clamp stopped reading it, I replaced the chip with a new one ordered from aliexpress, but I no longer have the original .BIN, can someone help me please
I am using CH341 programmer V 1.38, thank you very much!

Thank you very much Peste, it worked using neoprogrammer, although there was something strange, the neo marked another model different from the ch341 programmer but in the end the laptop is already working, greetings from Mexico :salud:

Hello guys, i have an hp 840 g2 that a customer brought in. it wont detect usb connection. i have troubleshooted the components relating to the usb. everything seems fine. now i realized that it initially detects usb connection then after the cmos reset reboot, it wont detect usb connection anymore.

so i decided to bring the case here, may be its bios error. here is my main and ec dump below.
