    Macbook A1466 - Bios trouble

    Hi there

I've a problem with some Macbook air 13" (and an Apple A1502 too).

After replaced the bios, the notebook start very slow. The loading bar starts and goes to the end, but it gets stuck at the end.

the bios is taken from another identical motherboard with the same part number 820-00165-a

same problem with an Apple Macbook pro 13 (A1502) and with an Apple Macbook Air 11 A1465.

I'm going crazy, plase help me!

If you take the bios from another machine then you must clean the ME firmware, change the serial and alter the fsys checksum.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as "identical" when it comes to Apple products.
Recently I had similar issue on 820-00165, it is solved by buying cleaned ME firmware (SPI ROM) chip from trusted ebay seller with providing all necessary data such as serial number etc.

It's not specific to Apple products. It's the same for all Intel platforms with ME region, ie. most machines for the past 10 years…
