LG 42LV5400 panel failure or internal board?

My gut tells me panel failure. The menu shows the same condition.

Only a guess for me but don't think it is panel. Lines look like they go across full screen. Usually panel is only on part of the screen.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

As it's an LV i'd suspect it's the BGA on the mainboard.

i'll put a vote in for main board. looks too even to be panel to me, but it is only my guess.

you will always be able to isolate it a bit more by disconnecting one side of the t-con and see if the fault changes at all.
WHY CAN'T PHILIPS USE PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS?

check lvds cable...reinsert it or apply wd40 to both connectors..this will fix this problem.if not then motherboard is suspect

                Hi,

Your symptom looks a little like the issue I had with a 42LV5500.
                Here is my post.

I didn't believe that baking the main board in the oven would fix the problem but the tv is working for well over 1 year.

Good luck - I bet it's a main board issue.

                Mike

I'll try to reflow the processor and see if it makes any difference. Thanks guys.

Just reheated a LV5500 on the BGA, came back to life. I'll vote mainboard, main processor

Well, seems like that's what it was. A shame this thing doesn't have Wifi. Would any USB wifi dongle work or does it have to be an LG branded one?

                          Firestick should work.
