i got this TV from the recycle place for 20$ and it seemed great at first...used it all day and night the first day, but the next day it wont turn on. then i unplugged it and let it rest for a few minutes, and it did turn back on.... turned it off...tried to turn it back on but it wont.
when i plug in power the red power LED comes on
when i push the power button, the power LED blinks 4 times, then makes a crazy chime (sounds like some kind of powerup in an old video game)
after making the chime the tv either turns on, or stays black.
the LED does not change from red to white or anything like that.
in normal operation, the LED turns off and the TV turns on.
sometimes it does this, but sometimes the LED just keeps blinking a slow blink...i cant tell if its 4 blinks over and over again or just a constant blink. the time between blinks is about 1 second.
if i press the power again, it "turns off" by making another chime sound.
i took it apart and didnt notice any blown caps or anything obvious...just some dust. which i cleaned.
what can cause a tv to work perfectly fine one day and wont even turn on the next?
im thinking it might be the inverter because i have 24v to the inverter and i have voltages going to the TCON as well... and the image sometimes displays for a second and then the backlight goes out.
also for some reason when i disconnect the inverter from the power board, it only blinks once or twice and then makes the chime...
im not really sure what voltages im supposed to be getting to the TCON but i saw some 5v in there for sure
