Ati R9 290X - work ok without load

Hello.
Have this Asus AMD R9 290X that works normal on full hd/video. office,.../ but when u try put load on, it freeze the pc.

Weird thing is i can run furmark on 640x390 with 8xMSAA to full load and heat. if i try just little higher resolution, it freeze.


GPU could not get higher because BAD GPU, or i have some bad GPU power phase

u mean that with low resolution i did not trigger faulty ram?

but how to detect which ram ic is faulty? is there some test for GPU rams ?

Yeah that's the sort of possibility I had in mind.

I am sure there is test software available if you google for it. Searching 'GPU ram test' finds quite a few hits for me, so have a look.

Whether test software will tell you anything useful is a good question - but I would certainly give it a go
