Flash the bios, 16MB ,and run the HP Electronic Label Restore Tool from windows.

Have you flashed the bios ? yes/no , if you have is the password still there.

Hi everybody i have same problem, can i use "hp_elitebook_745_g3_unlocked.rar " on mine? and if yes ho can i upload without desolder the bios chip or use a programmer? Thank You

No, read from your own eeprom and upload it.

You need CH341A or similar programmer and a soic8 clip.

You can unsolder and use the soic8 clip then. That clip doesn't work on-board.

BIOS Password Reset HP Elitebook 745 G3

HI All,

Recently bought a laptop (as above) can log in as administrator but can't open up BIOS as password protected. The seller doesn't know the password and HP support seem to think the answer is a new board (its not).

Pretty frustrating that HP believe they don't need to support customers and have added features that they wont support when they go wrong...Anyhow.

If anyone could advise what I need to do? I've read I need a BIOS dump? but not sure how to do that? I have downloaded one from Lab one - not sure if this is reputable or not.

Have some time on hands at the moment, so would love to get access to BIOS. Can someone help? Or point me towards a thread that can show me the process?

THe reason I need access is I want to upgrade and check the mouse mat is not turned off in BIOS (it doesn't work despite all software and hardware supposedly checking out OK in Windows)

What is the best way to do this? Can I take a BIOS from HP support or do I need to run a software program on this laptop to take the exact version etc?

Just saying that you need to program an unlocked bios using an SPI programmer. And before that you need to read your bios using that same programmer.
