    What is the voltage on each of these pins with the battery connected ?

    So attach the external power adapter & battery -> power up and take the measurements.

      Both pins now show 3.3V.

      Should I have done previous measurements with the system on as well? I only just now noticed that you wanted me to power up the system before measuring.

        If you are checking voltage, yes, the logic board should be ON.

        If you are checking resistance, the logic board must be always OFF.

          I thought by ON, you meant with AC adaptor plugged in, and with it OFF, not plugged in. I will have to redo all measurements then
          It will be difficult to do some of the measurements, as the heatsink etc obstructs many of the components etc. Also, I can't measure on the back, as the board has to be installed for the power button ribbon to reach.

            These pins still measure same voltage with the system powered on:

            batpres = 0v
            lodrv = 0v
            hidrv = 0.223v
            srn = 0.223v
            srp = 0.223v

              I'm considering buying a new battery for it, however, before throwing the same amount of money for a battery, as I initially gave for the machine it self, I was wondering if there are any checks I can do to check the current battery?

                        I ordered a new battery, however I did some more measurements at the charging IC area, and surrounding mosfets. These were all done with the system on. I'm still confused why the mosfets are showing 0.23V, that can't be normal, right?

                          Hi

                          A question when the laptop is powered up is the battery then detected in windows or in bios? I have the same problem with my dell g7 7790 now my battery isn't be detected anymore worked before. Is was waiting on lcd adhesive which i now received , i left the battery disconnected and now battery not be recognised anymore. I need time to investigate this problem further. It will be difficult no shematic available and not much free time. By the way did you tried updating bios. I let you know if i figured out what is my problem i let you know.

                          Regards

                          Steve

                            Battery is detected, but it says that it is at 99% charge in BIOS and Windows, which can't be right, as my multimeter says 0V when testing the battery.

                                    after asambling the laptop after i got my adhesive for the screen is battery not be en recognised anymore . In bios en os. I measure charging circuit it works correct and it must normal see my battery. I went to first and secondmosfet and i discoverdthe first mosfetis shortes between source and gate. I must still find a replacement or buy one. I didn't know if the first mosfet is shorted the laptop can not detect his battery anymore. I know it wil not charge but this fault.

                                      Hi an update i fixed my issue with battery not detected on my dell g7 7790. It was shorted mosfet S-D on the first mosfet. Is the first time i got the message battery not detected in bios and os.
