    MacBook A2251 waterdamage

    Hey everyone,

Working on a A2251 that was left out in the rain, and afterwards plugged into power :') Motherboard is a 820-01949

Anyway, when cleaning up the corroded areas I took off the U3100 (_R) to check for underlying damage since the whole area is trashed, I saw that pad number 111 is completely gone, but I have no idea what it's used for. I can read of the schematic that it's line NC_UPC_R_I2C_ADDR, but what is this line's purpose, and is it required to boot the macbook since we're mainly going for data?

TL;DR: What is NC_UPC_R_I2C_ADDR, and is it needed to boot the macbook?

    Including both boardview and schematic.

    Thanx in advance!

    Re: MacBook A2251 waterdamage

After replacing U3100_R, the other 3 ports take 5v 0.25a, and the corresponding port to the CD3217 that I replaced is taking 5V 0a.

    G3H is at 12.23v

I have no experience with CD3217 machines, so not sure where to take it from here. Anyone have some advice?

Macbook Pro Core I7 A2251 EMC3348 Help Remove MDM
      by MICHAEL_2013
Good afternoon. My client brought me a Mac A2251 EMC 3348 that he bought at a sale. The computer is completely iCloud-free, but it came with MDM installed. He has tried contacting the company that provides the MDM in every way possible, but they are unwilling to offer a solution. The device is:
      Model A2251 EMC 3348. Serial Number: C02G54CZML85
      Apple MacBook Pro Core i7 2.3, 13" 2020, 512 GB SSD, 16 GB RAM.
I've tried changing the serial number of the SoC ROM MX25U3235F, but it hasn't worked:
C02G54CZML84 only works up to Monterey.
      C02G54CZML86 doesn't work (I...

      MacBook Pro A2251 - 820-01949-A not charging
      by MikoMiko
Hello everyone, I have a MacBook Pro 13” 2020 (Four ports) (Model A2251 with the 820-01949-A logicboard). It had some minor liquid damage but I carefully cleaned the logic board with alcohol and let it dry as needed. Now I encounter following situation: The MacBook does start but the Battery is not charging when a cable is plugged in any of the ports (I use the powerbrick and cable that came with the device). It had some charge left, so I could safe some data, but I was limited my the 13% and the speed of airdrop. The liquid-damage is almost only limited to the side of the logic board where...

Macbook Pro - A2251 - No power when battery is connected
      by manymonsteras
I am hoping to get some advice. I have a 2020 13" Macbook Pro - A2251 that wouldn't turn on. I have done lots of electronics repair in the past but never on Macbooks. I have had this laptop sitting around and I finally decided to take a look at it and see if I could spring some life into it.

First, it wouldn't boot up at all. I did a DFU restore and managed to get it to power on. Did a full restore but the battery was dead and wouldn't charge. I put in a new battery in it but now it won't boot up when the new battery is connected. I ordered a second new battery just in case,...

MacBook Pro 2018 with Activation Lock
      by envym
      Hi everyone!

I have a 2018 MacBook Pro (with Sequoia OS) that I've been using for years with no problem. I recently received an M2 MacBook Pro so I'm mostly using it and not the 2018 one, but since a friend of mine needs a computer, I thought I could restore my 2018 and give it brand-new-like to my friend.

I tried using the built-in tool to restore the MacBook (Settings > General > Transfer or restore > Delete) but it got stuck when trying to remove the Find Device configuration (it asked me for the password for my old Apple ID -now I use the same account but...

      Macbook A2251 no boot
      by PITERPENY
The MacBook does not boot. It is restored via DFU without errors. The MacBook charges and consumes 20V/2A. There is no sound when connecting the charger. The caps lock does not light up, but the touchpad clicks. The fans do not rotate. No signs of life. Please advise.
