    CH341a won't work with a 25Q128JVPQ

    CH341a black programmer
    NeoProgrammer 2.2.0.10

    Winbond 25Q128JVPQ

With the above, NeoProgrammer just outputs "IC not responding" when I try to detect the chip.

I've tried two different flash chips, same thing.

I'm using an adapter PCB in the CH341 and all the pin connections check out and no shorts.

This isn't my 1st rodeo, I've used the CH341a with lots of other chips.

    Any ideas?

Dont know exactly, but I have also a reliability problem with ch341a.
I found that it work well with different softwares (programs), so, check to have it collect as much as posible

So it can be done with ch341a.

I am working with atmega328p and have success only with siberiaprog, it is on forum.

Even with same programs but different version can be a fault or success...
Have you modified ch341a for 3.3v?

    Example

      Thanks Harp.

Following one of your links, I've modded my CH341 to 3.3V - I didn't realise it was signalling at 5V without that.

I tried Siberiaprog and a few others as you suggested but no luck for me.

Unless anyone has any other suggestions, I think I might have to buy an RT809H

Before investing into RT809H, you might also try AsProgrammer https://github.com/nofeletru/UsbAsp-flash/releases

There is also for around 15€ new version of CH341 with swtich for different voltages (1.8, 3.3, 5V), but it probably won't be any different than your current one. However, CH341 is very prone to failure (and you mentioned using it a lot), so it might also be worth trying a different one.

i would recoomend the T48 myself - it's pretty cheap and does a hell of a lot
software is simpler to get too.
