Soldering plastic low profile FPC close camera CMOS sensor ?

Hello, I will have to solder a very small FPC connector (pins : 0.3mm), on the pcb of CMOS sensor, it is very close. I was surprised by movie on ytb, someone soldering directly with hot air directly on the sensor without kapton, nothing.
CMOS sensor seems resist to high temps.
But I also directly saw sensor broken because a blocked motor at the corner became very hot and probably bent the metal frame and cracked the sensor.

I have low melting point solder.
I will probably test hot air directly on one of plastic connector (I have a lot) at 320 degree on a test board, just to see if it melting ?
But I guess it's best to apply hot air from under pcb, but this way means more temp and I don't like.
I could preheat a little the board for avoid too high temperature difference ?

Do you have advice please ?

Besides, why hot protect the rest of the board with kapton & aluminum tape ?

You can also use a very fine tip, with flux and that low melt solder, and solder the connector that way.

Thanks for reply. I'm still waiting connector, not yet delivered.
I will probably cover the sensor, but I don't want isolate all the board except connectors, because that could create a hot spot around connector and cold spot on board under kapton. I prefer rising slowly the temp to 200 degree on all board, and then increase temp on connector.

I cant reach the connector pins with solder iron, because there is no pins, the connector has only pads fully under. The « pins » you see on picture is just solder on pads of the board, because pads are longer.
Not yet requested to smtnet.com but I will do

Desoldering - soldering BGA chip close plastic mini fpc connectors ?
          by corrize
Hello, I need your advise please ? I need to remove and replace the BGA black chip with fpc connectors around. The PCB is small, from camera.

There is no plastic component directly under, on the other face, (only fuse and oscillator I can remove if they are sensitives to heat), but there is a lot of very small smd components I don't want to desolder by mistake.

          I have :
          - hot air, and a
          ll stuff around
          - true kapton tape
          - 140 and 180 degree soldering paste
          - bismuth
          - little hot plate 250 degree max
          - the new BGA chip with probably

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

AcuRite 5 in 1 temperature sensor replacement repair
          by CapLeaker
          Got a new victim:

AcuRite 5 in 1 Iris outdoor weather station not updating the temperature / humidity anymore. The original sensor is a SHT21. Also there are identical other sensor manufacturers. I chose the HTU21D to replace the original SHT21. Both have identical specs. I've had two failure modes with these sensors.
A: outside temp stuck at -40? It's cold here at times in Canada, but not that cold!
B: stuck at some temperature and maybe updating once in 12 hrs or so.

Easy solution is to go to AcuRite website and purchase the sensor. Right?...

Google Pixel 5 - Proximity Sensor Issues - Reflow/Replacement procedure tipps wanted
          by groomit
          Hi,
I just replaced the battery on a Google Pixel 5.
After that the proximity sensor isn't functioning properly any more. It is constantly activated. So when playing a voice message on Whatsapp, the Screen instantly turns off.
Checking with a sensor app I can verify weird behavior of the sensor. It is triggered when nothing is near and sometimes works correctly when squeezing the phone next to the sensor hole.
The rubber seal is on again (as mentioned in various suggestions in other forums).

This smells like a cold or broken solder joint. So I'd like to reflow...

Dell Latitude 5570 Ambient thermal sensor reading -127 Degrees C
          by Gcnewbie
Forgive me this is my first request for help on this forum, so if i've screwed up or not followed the rules i should have i apologise profusely.

I have a Dell Latitude 5570 that was randomly shutting down, on further investigation i found that the machine had been shutting down due to thermal events as noted by windows event viewer.
My investigations lead me to the dell diagnostics screen, where i found that there were two sensors out of range which had been causing the shutdowns, one of which was the GPU thermal sensor and the other the ambient sensor.
          I opened the...
