Nope nothing, just the mode select LED lit as if it were just switched on at the wall

I'm going to put a GoPro in front of it next time I run it to try and see what happens the exact moment it goes off

Bit more info on the components:

The transformer is a 1P2S 2.5W 230V/5V filter with model Endela E-16-0242, I can only find it at a Turkish distributor with high shipping cost to the UK: https://ozdisan.com/Product/Detail/1208298/E-16-0242. In circuit it measures full continuity on one primary and one secondary winding (or near to it anyway) and 3.8 ohms at the other secondary winding. Haven't got round to taking it off yet.

      The electrolytic capacitors are:
      1x Samwha WL 450V 47uF 105*C
      1x Elite 10uF 50V
      2x Elite 1000uF 16V

There are also several poly capacitors that I can't find any data for

        the poly's dont matter,
the 1ouf and 1000uf should be low esr

Cool, I've ordered replacement low ESR caps for the electrolytics, will update in a few days. Capacitance of the old caps tests OK out of circuit but I don't have an ESR meter etc to do full tests.

Recapped, it's done 3 cycles so far and touch wood no cut outs. Going to wait a few months before I consider it repaired though, it seemed fine at first last time too

It's done about 10 cycles now and no cut outs, so I'm considering it fixed (or fixed enough to be useful at the very least!). Thanks all

Just updating for anyone who stumbles across this in the future (can't edit previous post) - still working fine, the recap has definitely sorted it.

                  Heat pump tumble dryer regas
                  by notallbad
Just wondering if anyone has successfully attempted a re-gas on a heat pump tumble dryer.

The dryer currently in question runs on R134a.
The dryer has been completely stripped down/cleaned/tested and re-assembled however there is no heating/cooling effect so working on the assumption it requires re-gassing. Of course, its likely theres a leak which would require soldering or even the possibility that the compressor has an internal fault even though it is running.

I was thinking of getting a car aircon regas kit or probably easier but slightly dearer an hvac...

candy tumble dryer (evoc 981 at-s) Component 738
                  by Petros_Z
Hello. I have a board of a candy tumble dryer (evoc 981 at-s).
It does not give an error but it keeps drying even without load. It has 3 ntc. Two are for the clothes and one for the compressor. I measure them and they look ok. I went to the board to measure the voltage given to them. It gives about 4v and it is going down as the ntc value going down.
Because I wanted to measure more easily I tried to solder wires on the board. Probably I manage to destroy the component of the title. It looks like as a smd resistor. Hopefully there were other two same components. I disorder them and...

Tumble Dryer - motor start capacitor
                  by tmcw
I was looking for a replacement capacitor for a tumble dryer, and I found one on eBay that has the correct values, and even looked similar, but of course, when the capacitor arrived, it didn't look like the cap in the listing picture.

I've attached the old (left) and the replacement (right) caps in a picture. The new one has plastic housing, the old one has a metal housing and is bigger. Am I likely to have any issues with this replacement?

                  Thanks....

Indesit vented tumble dryer control board dead
                  by notallbad
Anyone able to help diagnose the fault with this board please.

Hopefully photos are clear enough to give me direction on what readings to take and where.

All ancillary components of the dryer have been tested and work i.e heating element, thermostats, sensors, motor, door switch, wiring harness.

So theres 230v at the control board but no life whatsoever with or without the ancillaries connected.

The on/off/timer dial contacts are clean and make good contact. All the through hole mounted components appear to be good i.e diodes, resistors,...

Bosch Nexxt 500 dryer blinking start button - no start fix
                  by CapLeaker
My Bosch NEXXT 500 dryer quit today, press start nothing happens and the start button just keeps blinking. Not cool. Reset the dryer, same thing.
Even so the buttons feel good, my problem was the start button smd tactile switch on the PCB. Cleaned the switch with alcohol followed with Deoxit and the sucker runs like a champ again.
I like these easy evening fixes!
