    MOTU TRAVELER MK3 AUDIO PROBLEM

    Good Afternoon
I have a problem with this MOTU audio card, a traveler MK3, the connection to the computer is via firewire, the card is recognized by the computer (both mac and win) but I have no audio output, on the front there are a series of LEDs including the clock (44.1, 48, etc.) and that LED at the time of connection usually remains fixed telling me the clock frequency set on the computer, now at every start the LED in question remains flashing in most cases, sometimes it becomes fixed, other times it disappears, without any sign of operation, I exclude problems with the firewire chip, so much so that in desperation I also updated the firmware so communication between the computer and the card occurs, at the time of start-up the card also appears among the peripherals in the audio section, on the side I have a switch that lets me choose whether to power it via the firewire bus or the external power supply, when the problem started to appear it was connected via power supply, the problem started to appear after sudden power failures due to bad weather, initially after a few turns on and turn it off and it was fine again, then it abandoned me definitively, even powered only with firewire it has the same problem. the capacitors all seem good, near this switch I have a resettable fuse from littlefuse, I would start from there since in the past these apparently working fuses have given me a lot of trouble with other equipment. I hope someone can give me a tip before sending it in for assistance thanks
N.b. the most detailed and clear photos are taken from a blog of a guy who repaired the firewire chip by making an overview of the rest of the board and its components, if it were useful I can put the link

Hmm. I wonder if it can't sync / lock phase clock? That results in no audio as well. Would I count the FireWire chip out yet? No! Not convinced on that yet.

What do you recommend? Can I do some tests?

You'd need an oscilloscope and check if the clocks are in sync or even missing altogether. It's not an easy task.
