Boston BA7900 | Center Speaker Not Going?

Okay. I have found the time to solder a 3.5mm jack because the old one was defective. I soldered it. I'm not sure what I was doing. I notice when the ground wire touches a red or white wire, then that perspective side does not work. So I connected both the red and white wires to touch and the ground is "grounded" from the red and white wires. My sound system is working. However, when I plug my center speaker in, it does not work. Is this because I need a sound card with dolby digital sound? Wouldn't my 3.5 mm jack plugged into my phone be able to let the center speaker go? Did I wire it wrong or something? There is a black plug (phone jack) green plug, orange plug, and pink plug. I did some troubleshooting and the orange plug when connected to the phone worked with the center speaker.

This is what the control center looks like (before I soldered)

Note: My sound system is working perfectly right now. the rear left adn right speakers are working ever since I touched the white and red wires together (do I do this?)

you shorted the left and rigt channels together.

the screen connects to the body of the plug,
the red connects to the tip,
the white connects to the ring behind the tip.

the reason the sub wont work is because the sub output is calculated from the difference between left and right channels.

you have no difference because you shorted them together!

Ground the bare wire which is connected to sleeve. Most Commonly they use Red (Right) for Ring, and White (Left) for Tip, you just have to verify.

My subs work just fine. It is my center speaker that is unable to work.
