Re: nvidia Geforce 9800 gt doesnt work
Your re-flow wasn't hot enough...
If it was, that brown electrolytic capacitor in the bottom right corner would have bulged (That is almost certainly a Chemi-Con KZG series, which should be replaced).
If you MUST use this card and are adamant about fixing it, then I suggest trying to re-flow it again, but this time squirt some liquid flux under the GPU BGA before you do, desolder that electrolytic cap, and re-flow it at the proper temperatures, following proper procedure."We have offered them (the Arabs) a sensible way for so many years. But no, they wanted to fight. Fine! We gave them technology, the latest, the kind even Vietnam didn't have. They had double superiority in tanks and aircraft, triple in artillery, and in air defense and anti-tank weapons they had absolute supremacy. And what? Once again they were beaten. Once again they scrammed [sic]. Once again they screamed for us to come save them. Sadat woke me up in the middle of the night twice over the phone, 'Save me!' He demanded to send Soviet troops, and immediately! No! We are not going to fight for them."

Your 8800 Ultra likely got fixed because ovens are not 100% accurate with their temperature - they can over- and/or under-shoot by 5-15C.Last edited by momaka; 05-21-2016, 09:01 PM.
