I have buy a second hand HP Prodesk 400 G6 mini, and the bios need an admin password.

Serial : 8CC11636P0

can anyone help me to find the password ????

I try RC Unlocker, but I have an error message " Wrong chip. Try reading an unlocking 16MB chip!"

Do you have one Idea????

You made a mistake, the bios unlock must be done on the bios file itself that is locked in your device and not the file downloaded from the manufacturer's homepage.
What you need to do is buy/borrow a programmer to read the contents of your bios chip, then save the read content in *.bin or *.rom format and post it here.

Hi Guys,

Newbie here so I apologise if I have missed the obvious. I have a HP ProDesk 400 G6 Desktop Mini PC in for repair where the owner has purchased second hand with a BIOS Password enabled. SN: 8CC12804BP

I have a TL866II Plus and CH341a programmer, I have not used RCUnlocker before and I am looking to learn. I am a bit confused because there is only 1 chip on the board (GigaDevice GD25B256D) which is a SOP16 chip. I am trying to read the chip using both NeoProgrammer and Xgpro, but I can't seem to find an exact match for this chip so I am reading in NeoProgrammer using Chip ID GD25Q256.

This doesn't seem to be a 16MB chip, and I can't see on both sides of the motherboard a second chip. I am sure I am missing something really basic here, and ill end up kicking myself but can someone just put me on the right track?

I have attached a picture of the BIOS chip, and 2 pictures of the motherboard.

I did indeed, I shorted for 10 seconds with the Power Off, and also with the Power On as well as trying CMOS reset after, password still remains.

You're welcome.

RCUnlocker is designed to deal with 16MB files not 32MB files. If you want to do it by yourself, you have to compare between locked and unlocked files till you learn. Otherwise you can upload the file in a proper thread, and someone will try to help you.

I'm coming back to the forum, I finally had time to take care of my computer.
Serial: 8CC11636P0

I bought a ch341A and downloaded the bios directly to the Soc16 GD25Q256 chip. (I don't know if the file is ok)

the file is 32mb, how to unlock the Admin password??

Problem I made a mistake while clicking in Neoprogrammer, I have erase the chip from my bios. (I'm fucking noob).

Do you have a solution??

So i have buying a CH431 programmer and use NEOPROGRAMMER for the first time :
