No Power - Only Beeps - Missing 5V Rail Near F7502

    Hello,

Working on a PS5 that came to me for no power. Console would not beep or power on when pressing the power button initially. Board model is EDM-010.

I began by taking the console apart and performing a visual inspection on the board. Everything looked fine. I then tested the various fuses across both sides of the board and found that F7001 and F003 were both blown. I then looked closer at F7001 and found that the right side of the fuse read short on my multi-meter, so I injected 1V and found that a capacitor near the F7502 was getting hot, so I removed it and the short cleared.

I then replaced the two blown fuses and partially reassembled to test and still no power on however the eject button now makes a beep sound when pressing it and the power button will make a beep sound only after pressing the eject button first but won't beep if you didn't press eject first.

I then disassembled again and checked the fuses again and they are all ok, so they didn't blow again. I then checked for shorts and found none so I then started probing for voltages and found that a pad that is supposed to have 5VSTBY present in standby mode is missing. It's supposed to have 5V but it's reading 300mV. That pad also happens to be next to where the shorted capacitor is.

I made a graphic showing what I am looking at here and was hoping someone could take a look and hopefully help me out with this one because I am not sure what to check from here.

    Thank you!

Thank you for the reply. Just for clarification, "...and by the red caps", do you mean the component in my picture I posted in the original post?
