Throw it in the trash and buy an Apollo gate opener. I have worked on apollos that are ten years old and worth fixing.

You can find them on the net for around $950..Best opener on the market.

I think you're right. Upon closer inspection I have found the whole solar panel side connection trace fried. The lightening hit the solar panel. I found after removal of silicon? That 3 more resistors have the tops blown off and one of the EPPROM chips as well. thanks for all the input. From now on a will inspect with a magnifying glass before posting.
