Macbook Air M1 A2337 Battery Not Recognised

    Hello,
    Namaste .

I have a Macbook Air M1 A2337 which shows a Battery Cross Icon sometimes or sometimes it shows Battery Not Charging and is stuck at 1%.
Tried another known good battery but it reboots with Apple Logo coming and going.

The board here is clean and has no history of any liquid damage.
The machine works perfectly fine on a power adapter.

Can anyone help me in this please ?

Check the voltage to ground of each pin on the battery connector. Post the list of measurements.

      Pin 1 is PPVBAT_AON_CONN = 0.15V
      Pin 2 is PPVBAT_AON_CONN = 0.15V
      Pin 3 is I2C_SMC_PWR_3V3_SCL= 3.25V
      Pin 4 is I2C_SMC_PWR_3V3_SDA = 3.25V
      Pin 5 is SYS_DETECT_L = 0V

        Is the battery connected ?

See attached. Measure the voltage to ground of each of the pins with the arrows.

Thanks Mon2 for your help. Was curious and went ahead with a DFU Revive, problem solved.

The laptop works ok other than this battery problem?

The battery voltage is low. Maybe not charged?

Connect the battery to the board. Measure, carefully the voltage to ground of each pin of the battery connector.

The issue could be the smbus pins (SDA and SCL) on the battery connector. These pins must be ~3v each.

                Confirm it.

from the original charger 30 w works, but with a heavy load it reboots. sda and scl have 3v, + and - measurements on the battery show 3.7v

Since the battery is not detected yet the smbus lines appear to be ok, suggest to test with another known good battery. Unit must be able to detect the battery.

Would you have other but higher current USB type c power adapters for testing? They must support 20v.

Test if available to see if the unit reboots under heavier loading. That is odd to me.

the situation is as follows: found a battery (from a donor) from the battery does not turn on, if you turn on the power, the laptop will start, and then pull it out, it will run on battery, but the system is not displayed as before. I think that the board does not give a charge. in which direction to move? I am a beginner, and due to hostilities in the country, there is no way to contact the service.

By the way, I tried the apple configurator, the restoration did not help

When it runs on battery - does the desktop / OS show the battery to be detected?

Can you extract the details of the battery ? Such as number of charge cycles, battery health, battery serial #, etc. ?

Can you post the 820-#### number of the logic board?

Link the schematic if it is available on the schematic forum. Will also check my paid database to see if it is included.

If the battery is not detected, then the SMBUS interface is not working with the logic board or this battery.

Is this the only battery you have at this time?

Unless the host logic board can detect the battery, the charger IC will not be able to charge the same battery.
