Is there an alternate way to power up a CCFL Inverter?

There's this laptop I'm working with, LCD screen is good, tested with 2 inverters of same model, but sometimes the backlight won't work.

I do have an inverter/ccfl tester, it can power the CCFL in the screen and works fine. I think there's a power issue in the laptop when it feeds the inverter. Inverter gets hot too.

if your inverter gets hot while connected to the lcd cable that means your inverter is shorted

buy an universal inverter.
