Thank you. It was worth it. This system had a cup of coffee over the keyboard.
Battery charges, but for the rest dead.
Coffee was all inside, luckily on one side. Coffee dried up and left nasty sticky brown stuff on keyboard, motherboard, on the 4GB sodimm etc. Even in between the mylar sheets of the keyboard.
I took everything apart and cleaned with nail polish remover.
And what a surprise, the laptop works again. Only one of the 4GB sodimms died. The keyboard was beyond repair. The coffee was in between the sheets and you can't take them apart. If you do, most likely it will never work again. Repairing the damaged traces
cost more than a new keyboard in time and material. Taking it apart and putting it back together is a days job. In tried, but no luck.
So, all and all a lucky repair.
Most people don't start on a moisture damage, but this case shows it is very individual.
A 4GB sodimm and a keyboard is well worth it for this system.
