    Latitude 5521 - broadmoor 15 TGL-H 12L 5v 600ma can anyone identify this chip?

    Hi all,

got a latitude off of a old colleague which is stuck at 5v and not turning on no signs of life.

ive done some digging and it seems like pu4501 (5193 ti 1a8 adgh is the chip markings) is shorted. Getting up to around 74c. Haven't removed it yet because i haven't been able to confirm what chip it is.

Googling the markings brought up only one result, tps 51396 but the markings are 51393 so I'm assuming it's a tps51393 but googling that it seems like the chip engravings are different to the one I have so I wanted to confirm whether my assumption was right or not. Doesn't seem like there's a data sheet or anything for the 51393.

chip in question I've attached a screenshot.

BTW does anyone have the board view and schematic for this? Google was only able to reveal tons of BIOS uploads and some similar latitudes but not this one.

    thanks.

Managed to find the schematic on vinafix despite there only being BIOS on their yesterday 🤷♂️.Still can't find the boardview though.

Something screwy is going on. Yesterday arvo when I first took a look at this the TPS was getting hot so I started to look around for some info on it. Came in this morning found and printed out that page of the schematic and wrote resistance measurements for all the pins for the TPS. Pin 15 which is the LDO was 1.5M. All the pins read normal, so I connected the charger went over it with the thermal camera and the ISL charge IC was getting warm as was the PCH, both around 38c. TPS was stone cold. So yesterday the TPS was getting hot but this morning it wasn't which makes me think this is a secondary fault. Reconfirmed the readings on the TPS both in diode and resistance every pin seemed fine. Checked the ISL and again every pin reads fine both in diode and resistance mode. Tried to check if there is any voltage on the caps on the substrate of the PCH since it was getting warm wanted to confirm 19v hasn't shot through it but couldn't find anything.

Now after doing the voltage check on the PCH it's now stone cold and the TPS is getting hot again and the LDO pin 15 is shorted to ground despite it being 1.5M only a few moments ago. I'd understand this as a secondary fault, but that still does not explain why the TPS was getting hot when all its pins were reading as they should be originally. Reluctant to remove it as the PCH was also getting warm so I don't want to go changing the TPS to find the PCH has crapped it's pants.
