    a1706 smc program

    I have a1706 820-00923-a, the smc in this board is bad (980 yfe tm4ea231) I have a new smc but the problem is how to program this smc, does anyone know about it pls help

    No publicly available means to program a blank SMC. Any replacements have to come from a donor board.

    You can use some SMC's from other models and reprogram using Muerto's SMCtool, but the board has to be able to boot to do that.

      i have a muerto's tool but this model is not listed in this tool how to program pls guide me

        BTW, SMCtool is deprecated and now replaced with SMCFT. This model is not supported currently. It may be that he doesn't have a board to test with.

        Apple use different naming schemes for boards. 820-00923 --> Macbook Pro 14,2 --> Mac-CAD6701F7CEA0921

        This is not currently listed in his tool, so ask if he can add it.
