Hi there guys, i got my sisters laptop here. A friend of his tried to repair his charger by putting a new cord in, but from what i've understood, he switched the poles from it a couple of times because the laptop wasn't turning on and he thought it was that problem...
So now i have here the laptop, with the charger working ok now. I used the multimeter to measure voltage on DC jack... It's ok. Measure the round grey capacitors that are all arround on the motherboard as you see in the picture... they get to 19,5V ok, and they discharge ok if i unplug the charger.
I get some voltage readings on the battery pins as well.
But laptop has no light what so ever when plugged to the charger, and doesn't give any sign of life when pressing the power button... I've tried another charger even.
I've stripped everything but the GPU, CPU and the wifi as you can see.
I need some advice in what should i test next and what is the most likely thing that can be burn because of the switched poles on the charger. If you could point them out in the pictures that would be nice
I read that it could be a bad IC but i can't see any holes in any of them... Other than that way, i don't know how to check for a damaged IC.
