ACER 5742ZG No picture

Hello everybody,

Wanted your help on this one.
It powers on normally but doesn't have picture in the lcd or on external display.
Checked already with other RAM memory no result.
I have done a slight reflow on the vga (ati- 216-0774211) with no result also.
I wanted to know if somebody here has changed this chipset.

I know you say it boots ok but check bios+kbc if fitted in this model

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't boot it just powers on.
I will try reprogramming the bios chip first.

check bottom side of mobo beneath the processor if there is NEC TOKIN chip.
replace it with 4 pcs 330uf 2.5v tantalum caps

if you don`t do a proper reflow you don`t have a chance.
do it right or just stick it the oven .
you`ll have a better chance with that
