Are you saying the only fault is that the laptop starts when you plug the adapter in.

Look through the BIOS for "power on" settings. Most computers have one that causes them to boot when power is applied, and it sounds like that is the way yours is set.

I dont like talking to myself - I have an asus laptop that does that - I just let it boot up then power it down. There probably is a setting that will stop it doing that - but its no big deal.

Have you tried Ramee's suggestion - replace the rtc (cmos) battery

Looks like a problem local to the Philippines together you should be able to sort it .
I still dont know if the original poster has only this problem - he mentions something shorted as though the laptop doesnt stay on???

                  Owners manual has this:
WARNING! DO NOT connect the AC power cord to an AC outlet prior to connecting the DC plug to the Notebook PC. Doing so may damage the AC-DC adapter.

Does it make any difference if you plug into the laptop first then into the mains.

It also says you should ONLY use the supplied adapter.

In my case I dont have an original adapter and at the moment I dont have any adapter
I borrowed one to see if the laptop worked also it is not a K43s it is an old model ASus.
