Help identifying fault (charger circuit?) Quanta AX2

    Hi fellow tinkers,

Here is the problem as I see it,

I have a Compaq CQ56 which starts ok on battery but not from psu.

Checked the ISL6251 pin 24 DCIN voltage was not present.

Found 20V (psu voltage) on PQ2 (IMD2 dual transistor) pin 1.

Tried replacing PQ2 with a similar component from an old dv6000 motherboard. To be honest I am not sure the replacement component is ok either.

Point is I believe ISL6251 pin 24 DCIN should be approx 19v (adapter voltage) but I don't get that, it's approx 1v at the moment.

Can anyone shed any light on how these charger ICs work and what the IMD2 component does, or, if they often fail ? I was also wondering about the significance of pins 19 CSIP and 20 CSIN.

    Pic of schematic attached hopefully.
    Thanks guys,

Identifying the PWM circuit on the power supply of the Elipson W35 speaker
      by Phoenix88
      Hello everyone !

I'm trying to repair the power supply of my Elipson W35 Bluetooth speaker. The problem is that the PWM circuit has no reference "it's a smd marked U4 on the pcb. The reference has been erased at the factory. Here are some photos of the circuit; could you please help me identify the circuit? Thank you, and have a great day

Important point: the resistor R108 marked R100 smd mount is a replacement and I'm note sur if it's the good value, it's relay the mosfet to the ground capacitor 450v
      the mosfet is a :SVF12N65F

Identifying single cell Li-ion charger IC
      by martonmiklos
I am trying to repair an Autec A08 remote which does not turn off and depleting the battery
I spotted a burn mark on the li-ion charger IC what I removed, and after the removal the power ON LED is no longer continously on, however it does not turn on at all.
I traced the enable signal of the VBA - 3V3 DCDC LM3674 converter and it is wired to the charger IC through some passive network.

Likely to disable the power for the MCU/RF part during charging in the bay.

After investigating the IC further I got to the following:

      The markings were barely...

ISL88739AHRZ ISL88739 Laptop Battery Charger Datasheet
      by Document Archive
The ISL88739 & ISL88739AHRZ are a highly versatile combo battery charger
configurable for operating as either a Hybrid Power Boost (HPB)
charger or a Narrow VDC (NVDC) charger, supporting 2-, 3-, or
4-cell batteries. Both configurations allow the battery to work with
the adapter together to supply the system load when it exceeds
the adapter capability, referred to as system Turbo mode. HPB
charger configuration reverse-boosts battery energy to the system
bus to help the adapter provide the system power in Turbo mode.
      NVDC charger configuration...

how to prevent a connected charger from draining battery when not charging?
      by flat-earther
I have an RC radio handset(Taranis QX7) which doesn't have internal battery charger which means I had to remove the battery every time I needed to charge it.
So to improve it, I added a 15W USB-C charger board(link) inside and soldered it to the same connector on the PCB where the battery plugs into, great, now I can simply charge it with a USB-C cable.

but the problem I found is that after the radio sat for two weeks without being used the 2S 18650 battery that I'm using was at 4.2V!
So the battery is backfeeding the charger and being drained.

      How can I prevent...

      Identifying QFN16 3x3 mm buck DC-DC Li-ion charger
      by martonmiklos
      Hi folks,

I am trying to repair a Braun Silk Epil 9 series motherboard.
The on-board single cell Li-ion DCDC charger IC is defective.
It runs from 12V, and when it starts charging it brings my bench PSU CC.
I have drawn a reverse engineered symbol for it, does anyone could identify it?
I used up all my google fu with qfn16 li ion and dcdc keywords, but I have not found any pinout compatible one. Given the product's likely high volume production rate I also filtered LCSC's offering ot the 16 pin QFN DCDC and li-ion charger controllers, but no luck so far....
