How to wake up laptop battery

Greetings to all members of the forum, I have 5 pieces of lenovo G50 batteries, new in their boxes, that have fallen into sleep mode, because of 6month storing in my warehouse. Their voltage should be around 14.4V, but they measure from 3.9 to 5.85V each one and cannot charge either by laptop circuit or the special battery charger I possess. I think that my only option is to give the batteries some more voltage for a short period of time, trying to wake them up. if somene has developped a steady method with good results, I would be happy to learn from him.

A battery being discharged that much is not a good thing. The BMS should turn off the MOSFET when reaching the UVLO threshold too.
Anyway I've had success just plugging negative and positive side to a voltage and current regulated supply. For example for a 10.8V battery I set it to 11.1V and 1 or 2A and let it charge a bit. Then I finish charging with the computer.

Not sure what the lower threshold is. Probably 3V per cell so you need to charge it with more than 12V (3V*4 cells). After it has charged to above that, laptop charging circuit will be happy to take over.

Thank you very much for your replies, after a lot of troubleshooting involving manually charging each battery by making holes each side, I 've just managed to increase the Voltage back to normal levels 12-14V, but their capacity cannot be increased. Factory says there is a damage on the cells themselves and not a deep sleep of the circuit, but I don't trust them a lot. Thanks again for your help.

Try using laptop to charge them fully (maybe while laptop is powered off). Then disconnect charger (, turn on laptop) and let it discharge until laptop shuts off. Then charge once again. It should let the battery controller know of the real capacity of the cells.

Not sure if it helps but it's worth a try.

when charging u must be very gentle. if your voltage a enough higher than voltage of battery, the battery controller unplug battery from charging, u see it as voltage raise on psu
