It could be connection problem. There is extra module that attaches to motherboard. On that module is sound chip. Could be faulty connection, simple clean could fix it.

I had no sound problem, and cleaning fixed it.

It is the connection contacts of the disk board, it has to be replaced

i cleaned contacts, reflowed the audio IC, replaced the audio IC .. and after that i replaced the entire sub-board , the audio is still missing... i think that can be something related to chipset/cpu (sometimes) because the 2 connectors are solid (i've also reworked all the connector pins on the mainboard side .. and looks good at the microscope..the other connector is a brand new.)
the strange thing is that there are no issues with SSD... CARD READERD... USB PORTS .. that are also placed after this sub-board.

            here some other infos: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...52#post1209352

and also on this youtube video they solved adding an USB audio card and an amplifier: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=joOtn6vKZkY

For those who are looking for a solution for the Sound is not working after replacing Sound chip or Sound card daughter PCB Circuit,
Try to boot laptop with ubuntu Mint (which can boot from usb drive itself without installing into laptop). Then shut down and again boot with windows. you can see Realtek drivers are installed.
In my case it was Asus X555LDB laptop running on windows 10 pro 22h2
Replaced I/O board, HDD driver which has sound card in it and internal speakers.
I've tried every software solution there is like editing registry, updating Realtek drivers, adding legacy hardware using device manager etc. but nothing worked only this !

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Asus Chromebox CN62 - wrong chip put on BIOS reader
                by BMCappelletti
                Long story short:
                - dad converted Asus Chromebox CN62 into Windows compatible, with mrchromebox BIOS, years and years ago
                - gave the computer to his son a couple years later
                - son now decided to revert it to Chrome OS, to sell it as original (re-writing BIOS with the backup one created by his dad)
                - too lazy to remove the board from the case, thought a voltage regulator was the BIOS chip (you know... it has 8 legs)
(seems like the story was not that short)

He used alligator clips to read the chip. No luck reading it. Removed chip and placed on a SOC-8...

                Asus laptop EC/SIO chip replacement
                by ebugs
Asus Vivobook 15 (board X513ea R2.0) gone dead when user plugged an iPhone cable into the USB-C port during boot. Now there's no LED light, no power at all. I checked all MOSFETs and capacitors, no shorts found. The board only has 3.3V and 5V present, no other voltages.

I injected 3.3V into the EC chip power rail (ITE IT5125VG 128), and it draws 80mA, while the 3.3V LDO chip RT8249C has a max output of 100mA. I checked the boardview and found there are only two chips on this 3.3V rail, EC and Realtek audio chip. So I think EC could be the problem.

                I found the EC chip...

Problem Flashing Macronix MX25L6445E BIOS Chip with CH341A and EZP2019+ on ASUS X455LD
                by pengamat_hebat
                Hello everyone,

I'm trying to flash the BIOS chip Macronix MX25L6445E from my ASUS X455LD laptop using both a CH341A and an EZP2019+ programmer, but I keep encountering issues.

Reading the chip works perfectly, and I can extract the BIOS dump without any problems.

However, erasing and writing fail every time, regardless of the software I use. (Neo, asprog, ch341, etc)

I also tried applying 3.3V to pin 3, but it still didn't work.

I attempted to unprotect the chip, but when I read it back, the registers remained unchanged.

Asus X571GT repair chip replace and tips wanted
                by Jeroentje
                Hi

I try to repair a asus Asus X571GT (DA0XKTMB8C0) no power no lights.
I saw a burned (small hole in it) chip (JW10F) proberly a TPS22976DPUR, I removed it, now with power connected the laptop turns on and direct off again, power led and fn will light up.
                I found on a donor lenovo board a G2898KD1U (wa9y), looks the same ..
Result is still the same, turns on and direct off again, first attempt is with backlight on all other direct attempts are only the power and fn led.

Could it be the chip is to diffrent to make the laptop work again ?
