It wasn't a Caps but Resistor marked by label R391 with value 0 ohm. The shape indeed make us confuse (maybe small ferrite coil). I believe it connected to 3V_S5 rails, but the question is could be those rails goes to the load for SoC (CPU+CHIPSET). we don't know yet. Possibly the SoC have shorted.
The first time I face with this mobo, R391 not totally burn but found it abnormal heat. at least got few data maybe can help for future.

I had the same board with the same issue. I can also say how it's caused, I caused it to a perfectly perfect working computer.
The problem is caused by plugging the speaker connector in a nearby socket (cn18) that has the same pin count as the speaker one but it's actually for plugging the screen backlight connector for maybe a different model screen. Toshiba left this connector on the board but without anything connected.
When connecting the speakers to it, you will burn the CPU integrated intel graphics card and also that resistor and maybe something more. I'm now trying to figure that out.
Here is what I did till now.
Replaced that resistor with a new one.
Replaced the original CPU i7-4500u with a i7-4510u (not sure if I need to edit the bios somehow for it to boot with the new CPU)
The PC now powers up and stays on, it has fan spin for 5s, but there is no picture. Not in the laptop screen and also nothing via HDMI.

Can't test it now
Just lost one component last night to the 5th dimention. Took it out to check if it was bad or not, and just lost it. I know it's responsible to convert 12v to 3v or 3.3v... It's not turning on now.
It's PQ10
Anyone knows it's reference?
if not, I just ordered another broken board to have some components to replace

Maybe I was not clear.
The laptop was working fine. I took it apart to replace the hinges and though of taking the board out to give it a clean. The problem was caused by me when assembling it back as I plugged the speakers in the connector for the LCD backlight. The laptop had no power after this and the CPU/intergrated GPU was in short. Also the resistor marked R391 responsible to provide 3V to the CPU and maybe something else was burned.
Replaced the resistor and the CPU with i7-4510u
Anyway, I found the AO6402A that was in the 5th dimension and
just executed the ME cleaup procedure and have the same behavior
5s fan spin
it stays on until I keep the power button pressed for some seconds
The CPU and dedicated GPU heat up
edit: the fan just kicked in after 1m. so, it's at least detecting it's getting hot.
could the dedicated GPU be dead somehow and this is what is causing no picture? I don't measure any short in it and it's getting 1VLast edited by Vspeed; 05-06-2022, 11:41 AM.

just to update this topic.
The laptop is again working fine after replacing the CPU i7-4500U with i7-4510U, replacing PQ10 (AO6402A) and the R391 (0ohm) and doing ME cleaning (https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showpo...41&postcount=3)
My mistake was I was using a DDR3 memory module instead of a DDR3L. The laptop is booting fine and maybe it was even without cleaning the ME.
