Disconnect the battery and the keyboard then plug Magsafe in. It should turn on by itself and the fan should start spinning.

When you say "not turning on" you mean green light is present but fan is not spinning right?
First make sure you use an Apple original 85W Magsafe1.
Then you go down the list of power rail and mesure voltage on each one to find which ones are present and which ones are missing.

I am using original magsafe 60w, yes the green light is present when i plugged the charger and also on the bios chip pin8 there is 3.3v and on the keyboard connector there is 3.3v. but when i pressed the power button nothing happens fan is not spinning and even if i unplugged the battery and plugged in the charger.

Re: Macbook pro a1286 no power

Check all the tension on the bios, yesterday I repaired the same model with a similar problem, solved with reprogramming biographies. My situation before reprogramming the bios: light green magsafe -> orange with battery connected
3.3V on the power button (pin 5 on the keyboard connector)
3.3 volt failure on a bios pin
After reprogramming the bios, it starts up and show, but unfortunately the GPU needs reflow or replacement

A 2011 MBP 15" will *not* turn on with 60W and no battery. You need a 85W Magsafe.

And yes, this will have a dead GPU that needs to be replaced, but good new replacement chips are extremely hard to get (or not available at all).

                      He posted the model, 820-2915.
But yes obviously try with an Apple 85W Magsafe1. It doesn't make sense to mess with the board when the issue may be the AC adapter or the battery.

I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

                          Hi all!

I'm trying to troubleshoot a Microsoft Surface Pro (5th gen) model 1796 that won't power on. Motherboard model is M1007506-015. My priority is retrieving data, but the SSD is integrated so it looks like if I can't repair it it'll need to go to a data recovery company. I've done a little basic board repair before, but nothing this advanced until now. So please forgive my ignorance in advance. 😅

I found the boardview for this laptop in the forums here, and am able to open it on my PC with FlexBV.

                          Hi all,

TL;DR - this laptop is driving me nuts with the oddball power-related behaviors. Appreciate any insight you can provide!

I'm experiencing a power issue on an Asus Probook P5440UF-XB74. Although I've worked with electronics and computers for decades, this is my first attempt at getting into motherboard-level component troubleshooting. Any help the community can provide is greatly appreciated!

A few weeks ago I was using the laptop (on battery power) for a Zoom meeting. The battery was running very low (long meeting) but I wasn't worried about...

I have a MacBook Pro 15" late 2011, it has a dead GPU and was sent to a repair center for this issue multiple times, the last time the original owner of this machine decided to not fix it anymore. The repair center returned the machine, but they desoldered the GPU and VRAM, it just physically isn't there anymore. The machine did originally work, we'll get to it.
What it does now: does not turn on in SMC bypass mode, the fans just twitch and I can hear a ticking sound from the board, almost like there was a short circuit. But in normal mode it does start, fans spin for about 10 seconds,...

I have wanting to do this project for quite sometime now and I finally found a switching power supply that will work on this desoldering gun station ZD-915 that the original switching power supply took a shit and just was not worth trying to fix it because this switching power is not quite big enough to handle the heater element and the vacuum pump

One note when I tested the switching power supply and the voltage control board I noticed that this desoldering gun heat up much faster than the original switching power supply which I was really surprised by to the point that I might buy...
