    Lenovo Z410 to Z510 motherboard

Hello, i bought a new motherboard for my notebook lenovo z510 from China, but they sent me board for Z410 and i have got two main problems.

First, my wifi isn't working. I was searching on internet and i found that everyone who want change wifi card need unlock bios first. Maybe it could also help me.

And the second problem, more important to me, is with the keyboard. The keyboard hadn't worked at all then i found out that there are zero rezistors that can setup the keyboard connector. Now I'm in a state that the whole keyboard works except numeric pad.

    And my questions are:
    1) Is it possible that this is a bios problem? Do have Z510 and Z410 diffrent bios settings?
    2) Can i flash diffrent version of bios without hw programmer?

Thank you very much for your help.

Re: Lenovo Z410 to Z510 motherboard

The 14" Z410 has a 26 pin keyboard connector, the Z510 has 30 pins, how have you managed to get your keyboard working. The Z510 has extra num pad keys on the keyboard compared to the 14. I havn`t checked but i`d assume the EC firmware would be different .You could solder a 30 pin connector on the board,if the empty pads are there, and force flash the Z510 EC and bios ,then the keybord would be mapped and wifi working. If the bios can`t be flashed you would need a hw programmer for the EC and bios.

Thx for reply. The 30-pin connector was there, but the zero resistors were not according to the schematic. I soldered them correctly and it's working but without extra num pad.
I think the same thing about firmware, but dont know how to force flash the Z510 EC and if it is even possible to do it from an os or some bootable device.

my laptop is lenovo flex 5 14ITL05

recently my power supply for this laptop developed a fault.
which caused a short in my usb c port -- verified with a new charger.

rant: so, i went to the repair tech in my country, he asked for a huge repair cost when i decided to get it done someplace else this "great person" nicked my bios chip, asked me to be aware for repair scams lol.
I was stupid and unable to find the flaw at the moment. Another repair tech told me that my bios chip was stolen and an 8mb bios chip is in place of that. he told me that a 32...

Asus ROG Strix Scar G533qm with a G733qm Motherboard, can I modify the Bios to accept G533 Bios
        by glovecaps
        Hello,

I have a Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 (G533QM) that had a dead motherboard (Graphics card dead) and after trying to fix the motherboard with no success, I bit the bullet on a sale for a new motherboard. I ordered a motherboard for the 15 inch model which is the one that I have, and when the motherboard arrived it wasn't for a little while that I saw it was from the 17 inch model.

My question is, can I update the Bios on this G733 motherboard to a G533 Bios.

The reason for wanting to do this is that the keyboard isn't working as it should, and I think this...

Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 (serial number: MP2BFZEF) bios request
        by Wahaz
        Hello,

I have a Lenovo Thinkbook 15 G2 ITL i5 Laptop (serial number: MP2BFZEF) that when I turn it on, the led on the power button lights up for 5 seconds, then goes out. There's no display and nothing happens.
So I thought it was a Bios problem.
I found 3 bios chips on the board, which I read with a bios programmer: two XMC model bios chips and a Winbond model bios chip. Each XMC model bios chip has two partitions named XM25QH128A [3.3V] and XT25F128A [3.3V]. And the Winbond model bios chip has three partitions named W25Q80BL 3.3V, W25Q80xV 3.3V and W25Q80DV 3.3V....

Inability to view the Bios with dedicated/discrete graphics card, Lenovo v520 PC, IB250MH VER1.0 motherboard
        by pippostino
Good evening everyone, I have recovered a Lenovo V520 desktop PC, on which I have mounted an NVDIA GF9500GT 512Mb graphics card (and it is not the only one I have tried) to replace the one originally mounted, namely NVIDIA GT730 (Lenovo code FRU01AJ853), I replaced it because it has 2 Display Port outputs that I cannot use, as I don't have such a monitor or DP/VGA converter. The problem: Windows I can see it, but the Lenovo logo or the BIOS/UEFI, not. So I can't enter the Bios. To view the Boot or the Bios, I have to remove the dedicated graphics card and connect to the integrated graphics (therefore...

        Lenovo IdeaPad 330 15-AST 81D6 BIOS Recovery
        by jendkkd jeje
So a couple of years ago i got a bios update through Lenovo Vantage, so i installed it and bricked my whole BIOS, so i couldn't fix it so i put that ideapad in a box, 3 years later i found that one PC and want to recover it to switch from a 2014 hp laptop to this one.

I found a method to recover the BIOS of many lenovo laptops tha consists in pluging in a USB Flash with the BIOS files and power on the laptop with Fn + R keys pressed until fans go loud and start beeping loud, but nothing worked, so i think filename is wrong, i tried naming the bios file as 07WW.BIN, BIOS.BIN, BIOS.fd,...
