    Dell Inspiron 5720 (17r) DA0R09MB6H1 - No Display ?

    Greetings to all ,

I have encountered a new problem with a laptop that i got from abroad. The laptop was indicated as non-working, non-power on.
It arrived in my hands, but it works in the correct charger (Dell) .
Powers on , but no post , not internal not external (HDMI / VGA) .

    The CPU is heating up.
    The GPU as well.

I have checked the CPU . All good, screen etc.
I have as well disabled the GPU ,from the "coils" top ones, that you remove them ,and you make the laptop boot from the HD Graphics of the CPU (Tried 2 cpus which work).

But again ,only heats up with no post.

I have as well reprogrammed the BIOS Chip WINBOND25 etc. but no luck so far.

Have you encountered something like that ? Anyone else ?

    Thanks!

We all encounter such cases on a daily basis. No display situation can be for "N" number of reasons. You need to troubleshoot by measuring signals/voltage rails.

Hold D through power up. You should see a self-test begin on the screen. If you do not, the display is faulty -- the system will not pass POST without a recognized internal LCD panel. If you do see the built-in self test but still get the eighth beeps -- then it's the GPU that's toast.

          Question.
          I downloaded the schematic.

I saw in the board , that U10 "doesn't exist" and exists only U14.

How can this be when the U14 is the EC rom ?

            I have tried 3 different BIOS (U6 Position) .

1x Fan spins at 100 % percent , speed no image, light power on remains
1x Doesnt' spin FAN , but power light comes on and stable stays on - no image
1x Nothing remains dead, not even lights.

Did you try to observe (or search online for information on) beep codes or flash led codes?

No, there are no beep codes or etc. The board still does the same power cycle.
Tried different BIOS dumps, to some it even doesn't even boot (i mean fan spin)
