Notebok ASUS X510UNR no power on

    Notebok ASUS X510UNR without power
    Tested and ok
Keyboard - PWR_SW # ok and came to EC
New BIN bios registered (I get 8,198 KB here)
    3.3 V and 5 V suspended Ok
I don't have the layout, just the preview of the frame

    Please, any tips
    Thanks

Power down & remove the battery.

Meter in resistance mode (ohms) -> check the resistance to ground on all grey coils on the logic board.

You are looking for very low resistance coils which may indicate an issue with that power rail. Anything < 10 ohms is a suspect, for now.

Battery is good on this notebook?

External power supply is good? What is the voltage ?

Can you confirm this external power supply is mating correctly with the DC power jack ?

Trace it back on the logic board and see how far this power rail travels. Somewhere in that area, the power supply is failing to be passed through.

Any liquid damage ? any blown / damaged parts?

Only 3 coils are with resistance below 10 Ohms, but they are close to the processor and I think it is normal.
        Battery ok, 11.30 V
        External power supply OK
        3.3V and 5V are present
        Memory Ok
No sign of oxidation or liquid on the board

Ok. Leave the coils alone - agree with the CPU core rails being low in general.

From the boardview file, trying to trace the path of the voltage rail from this external adapter.

Since you have 3v3 and 5v0 present - this portion of the design should be ok.

You can measure the coils (voltage mode) on the logic board to determine which ones are not switching with the adapter connected.

Thanks, I haven't seen the video yet.
I do not have the SVOD V3 yet, but I will purchase and try this procedure.
It looks like it is a software defect, the basic voltages and power on are ok.
Thank you very much and I will publish the result of the EC Flash

I will make these measurements with an oscilloscope and post the result

Re: Notebok ASUS X510UNR no power on

In addition to the 3v3 and 5v0 voltages present, it also has that of P_1.0VSUS_PHASE_30.
All other coils have no voltage or pulse, pressing the power or connecting the external source.
It seems that there is no response from the EC to the low pulse (PWR_SW #) that goes to him, on pin 110.

Friend I'm having the same problem, I still don't have anything concrete, I've re-recorded the bios and nothing, I'm sending the boardviewr maybe it will help you.
