    Acer Extensa 2519 - n15w4 Battery problem

    Hi,

I've an n15w4 with a very strange problem.
I received the laptop after a failed bios update, so I downloaded the bios from Acer website, then after extracted the bios from installation package (with correct size, I extracted it from bios.bin file)

I reprogrammed the eeprom (after make a backup anyway), now the laptop start (the bios have a fake serial number and fake device name.. something like 123456789012 and acer_xxxx but it's work)

Everything went ok, but now I still have a problem... seem that the battery won't charge (seem, but I don't have any confirmation, that before the failed bios update, the battery charged normally).

As first test I clicked the "battery reset switch" after this operation, the orange charge light turns on and seem that the charge will start but after 5/10 seconds the orange light turn off and the battery stop charging (I checked the power supply consumption and the current start to rise till around 0.3 A then immediatly drop to almost 0.03A)
Another strange thing is that the battery is detected by the OS (win10 with a charge of 69% more or less...).

I also to did a complete test, I installed win10 x64 with all drivers and everything work as expected but if i remove the power supply the computer immediately went off.

I also checked all components searching for evident damages on IC or other components but on physical inspection everything seem ok.

    So, I've two questions:
    - How can I recover original bios information (serial number, laptop name, eventually win7 certificates if exists) from original bios dump?

    - What I can check to start a diagnosis at electronic level?

    thank you

Since you have backup of bios, post it in bios section and someone will assist you in digging out the dmi info like serial, model etc. Your battery seems faulty so try with a new battery first. Win7 key is usually not embedded in bios chip. there should be a sticker on the backside of your laptop with win7 key printed on that label.
