hi everyone,

need to reprogram bios however when the clips do not work as the just slide off when attaching. Removed bios from logic board winbond 25q64fv1q and soldered on to breakout board and getting the following using neoprgrammer. Any thoughts, am I doing something wrong?

First of all 25q64fv1q is not a I2C chip, but in your screenshot I2C is selected, should be SPI NOR 25xx, secondly you most probably didn't connect correctly the breakout board to the programmer, upload the screenshot of your breakout board with the chip in it connected to the ch341a. Most probably you've connected the breakout board in a 24xx position instead of 25xx. There is a silk screen printed on the ch341a board about this.

Thank you for your help. I uploaded a picture. As per SPI rom it automatically gets selected when I “detect”.

I don't see the dot marking the pin 1 of the chip in the photo, the rest looks OK. It is connected as it should be. Try selecting manually under IC tab ---> SPI NOR 25xx ---> Winbond ---> 25q64fv.
You cant also try another software for the ch341a like Colibri and/or ASProgrammer.

The GND pad under the chip might be touching some of the adapter pins, it isn`t a proper WSON8 adapter
