In the meantime, I tried to extract the .bin file from the official .exe with no success:
      - unzipped --> no apparent binary candidate among the files
      - Dell PFS Extract failed, so I assume it is not a PFS file
      - ./Inspiron_7415_2-in-1_1.24.0.exe /writeromfile fails with error "Invalid H2=FFT-W parameters (-writeromfile)
      - tried, out of curiosity to flash with NeoProgrammer the two files posted in this thread for the W25Q128FW (Mine is W25Q128JWSQ) .., and got an error:
      "Current programmer: CH341 Green
      22:56:01
      Old protection Register: 01010001(0x51),
      New protection Register: 01001100(0x4C),
      Programming memory(verifying)... Main Memory
Verification error on address: 0x00000000, Device: 0xFA, Buffer: 0x82"

On a side node, I'm using the CH341 green version set to 1.8V.

So I will wait for your input.
      Thanks again for the support!

        1. your bios backup has no volumes, means is corrupted.
        2. how did you set to 1,8V CH341? You have to use an adapter for 1,8V, search for "1.8V adapter for ch341a" and you'll understand
        3. Error is for bad or no contact of adapter with bios chipset terminals. Use ASProgrammer or Neo Programmer, not software came with CH341a
        4. platform for bios is Insyde so use insyde IFD extractor for bios update package
        5. you have attached bios image extracted from bios update, because your backup is corrupted i can't r ead DMI to transfer it.

Hi volinakis, thanks a lot for your support.
          2. I have this version of CH341, which allows to set the voltage to 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 and 5 V: https://www.fruugo.de/ch341a-program...xoC4mEQAvD_BwE
          3. I use Neo Programmer

I tried to flash the BIOS you provided, but got following error:
          "Current programmer: CH341 Green
          1:01:02
          Old protection Register: 10000100(0x84),
          New protection Register: 00001010(0x0A),
          Programming memory(verifying)... Main Memory
Verification error on address: 0x00000000, Device: 0x04, Buffer: 0x02
          Execution time: 00:00:00.038"

I am going to try with the adapter as well and let you know.

Edit: Second attempt worked well! Thank you!!!

                            Hi,
My Dell Inspirion 7415 was doing some firmware update stuff and now it is asking me "Enter Current Password:". I don't have set one.
Can anyone help? I saw that some people have ansered with a 8 number password. How do you calculate this from the service tag?
Anyhow, I would like to have a similar password, which fits to my service tag.
                            Thanks!
                            SERVICE TAG: CB3FFG3

And is it possible to read out the original UEFI Firmware chip when it is in the system? (using a Dediprog SF100)
Do I need to switch the system to G3 (completely off, battery removed)? Or does it work in S5 mode?
