Hi, I need help with HP EliteBook 640 14 inch G10
          S/N: 5CD3494JSW
          Prod Id: 941U3EC#ABY
          MB: DA0X8TMB8E0 REV.E

Bios has password, I did usual modifications to enter in MPM mode, it enters in MPM mode but when I try to load factory defaults it doesn't reset Administrator Password field, it stays at "Change Administrator Password". I can't reset Security to defaults because is asking for password.
I did try to downgrade bios version but can't find proper MFIT Tool, it was made with 16.1.27.2236

I attach main and EC backups, maybe someone with more experience can help me, thank you.

thanks but id doesn't work, applying factory defaults it doesn't reset Admin Password. Also, I noticed that if I set up a Power-on password resetting to factory defaults in MPM mode it doesn't reset power-on pass too. I will read bios with power on pass and compare with original one to see where is stored power on pass maybe I'll figure out where Admin pass is stored.

i think it needs vssstore cleaning. so that auto reset security settings.

                try this flash both
same procedure but try reformating first then use bcu to reset security settings to defaults. this doesn't have mac address so don't forget to input the mac in HBA in bcu.

if Admin pass is set can't use BCU to reset anything, it will ask for pass ...

your files brings laptop to a new level of sh*t. It makes identity data recovery and doesn't enter in MPM mode. Of course, BCU doesn't allow me to modify anything without password.
But thanks anyway for sharing your work.

thank you. With your files laptop won't start (5xblinks caps lock), I cleaned ME but same thing, but ... with your EC file and and older version of bios (V75 ver.1.02.03) with clean ME I was able to put it in MPM mode and clear Admin password. Thanks again!
Now please help me with EC file from this post, same problem, data identity recovery and not entering in MPM mode:

Hello everyone, how are you? I saw that you have already managed to help some people, and I have a problem here at the company, an HP 640 G10 notebook which they put a password on the BIOS and it only shows on the screen: "BIOS ADMINISTRATOR PASSWORD" Enter Password. I don't know how to solve it.

When you click F10, you go directly to the part that asks for the password.
