If there is no BIOS password, it has access to change the serial number!
And it won't disable absolute because it's still active in bios?
It won't disable, but if you change the serial and format ssd mdm is gone away
Kill the state in yourself and you will be free like a wind...

Thanks for sharing this method, Maxpower3!

I've just recovered two ThinkPads E14 Gen 1 (Intel) - NM-C421 board with IT8227E-256 EC.

There's no debug connector on this board so I soldered a wire to unpopulated C0705 (LPC_AD3), which is conveniently located on the top side of the board. The other end of the wire is grounded through a tactile button.

The correct moment to press the button is immediately after the Lenovo logo appears. If pressed too late, fan error will appear. I once got into SETUP with only the Config tab present - rebooted and retried and got full SETUP after a couple of tries.

The 2nd machine had diagnostic screen enabled - no Lenovo logo. The correct moment in this case is after backlight comes on but before the diagnostic screen appears.

I confirm your genius method is working for T14 gen 1 AMD GT4A1 NM-C801 rev.1.0 Thank you very much!
volinakis Are you up for sharing a picture of the part of the board that you shorted? I am confused because the ITE IT5261 on mine has some kind of covering-looking thing over it and the pins are not visible. Do you have to use the other side of the board? Or am I looking at the wrong part? Thank you!

Hi all! First of all I'd like to express my gratitude and appreciation to Maxpower3 for the shorting method which helped me to remove SVP from my T14 Gen1 Intel based laptop. Everything went smoothly - I shorted one of the required pins to ground, disabled SVP and cleaned the security chip (a couple of times) and rebooted by ctrl alt delete. Password is gone. But i stii get the 2204 Error after rebooting from Windows. I tried reinstalling Windows, that didn't help. I used Lenovo Utility flash drive, initialised the EEPROM, rewritten all S/Ns and other ids to EEPROM. But that didn't help as well. I disconnected cmos and main batteries and tried again - same error. Does anyone know what I can do about it? I have a suspicion that it throws this error because I am disabling Security Boot in the Bios settings. I need it to be disabled for Linux installation. I attached some photos of the errors I get. Is there a way to solve this issue? Thanks in advance for your help, it is highly appreciated!
