Silly question perhaps, but how does one apply/install these new bios images?
you need a bios programmer via USB.
the tool got a adapter , you unsolder the chip from the mainboard attach it to the programmer , download /find the image file , rewrite the file on the chip, resolder the chip back and VOILA
many cases are around that chip because it does not power and the bios chip its bad or file corrupted on the chip. some cases you rewrite when you got password on the chip(you know bios password) and you write a new bios on it so you can access the bios.
Thanks for that dj_ricoh. Are these just ordinary I2C or SPI programming of EEPROM chips ( 8 pin ) ? I do a lot of microcontroller work, so I probably can conjure up something to do the job ( even have SO8 clips ).
and another problem , laptop starts on battery , after few second after asus logo appers , turn off
if i plug in adapter and battery works great, if i remove charger after laptop starts , works on battery ... but after restart an logo appers , turns off
