          Re: HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

Hi, I replaced the motherboard of a hp 820 g2 with one purchased on ebay,
I would like to know if I can change the serial number, so as to insert the one on the motherboard that was there before. I no longer have the old motherboard and I don't have the copy of the previous bios.
          Thank you,

Hi all hope you can help.
A customer asked me to take a look at her Notebook. Upon booting the notebook and message appears.

            Product Information to valid

The Following product information programmed into the system board is missing or invalid

System Board (00A) - System Board CT Number

The Notebook is a HP Notebook - 15-Ac107na
Does anyone have the proper DMI tools for this, i have tried a few and all i get is "accessed denied" when trying to set new config

I would be greatful for any help
            Thanks

              Re: HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

I have a question regarding HP Elitebook/ZBook G3 mainboard replacement and DMI data:

If I had dumped my bios from the bad motherboard with a SPI programmer, could I simply flash it to the new board? Would this make DMI editing unnecessary and I would be able to keep my integrated Windows license? What would happen to the MAC-ID?

Even though the program says it's not supported on my system (2.14 would be the right version, but has no UEFI) . After MPM unlock I can use the normal tools nbdmifit or wndmifit to write the details
Thank you very much! This solved my problem! You are the best!

                  Re: HP DMI Tool NBDmiFit

                  Help.I have EliteBook 2570p.
On HP product serial finder, this notebook's warranty started 2013, ended 2014.
On power on, I can read *Manufacture Program Mode set 4 of 10*
The error I am getting is *Product Information not Valid*
I can boot to Ubuntu / Mojave (dual booting linux and hackintosh)

I only have Ubuntu 22 and MacOS Mojave as dual boot on this notebook. I did not install Windows but I can find an extra hard drive to install Windows if needed.

I just want to know what tool I need to use. Please help?

Can I unlock the bios password without chip bios programming? Like use smc.bin. Is it possible to generate smc.bin using wndmifit?
