you can't write the bios chip correctly unless you remove it from the motherboard...you need an SPI programmer..here is a video as an example...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWWigscuQDY
Due to a lack of donations, server free space at a critical level, and possible closure of Bios Requests all donations are welcome, click:

Thank you for answering! I'll buy the programming tools soon. However, I don't have desoldering/soldering skills. I'll have to try out ch341a programming with soic8 test clip on the BIOS chip while it still is on the motherboard first.

I managed to flash the Bios in system without removing the chip but the key was to feed external 3V3 (ch341B with test clip). Even though the circuit only draws 40 mA the 3V3 oscillate violently, so simply feed the 3V3 externally and you are good to go.

I would also like to thank all the helpers from this forum. This enabled me to save my laptop myself after a failed BIOS update. I love fixing things and this forum is a gold mine. Keep it up, you're great.😍

I have a question, though I'm waiting for my programming tools to arrive in my country, my motherboard is an i5 8250u (15-bs1xx), can I flash any compatible BIOS variant regardless of motherboard model or id? I mean, 15-bs190od, 15-bs102nq, etc?

If that is the case, to avoid flashing the wrong BIOS (I downloaded some here), can someone please share the correct BIOS for me?

Thanks for answering! How can I add the dmi file?

Here's my current BIOS configuration and lacks TPM Device, TPM State and other related settings (I got it using HP BCU)

Sorry for not answering soon, I was trying to find a way to copy/dump BIOS bin without programming tools (I don't have them yet - late delivery due to civil unrest protests after political election).

Gladly enough, I found a way. Here it is

Now that I analyzed things thoroughly, that's not the current generic BIOS I'm using now that's the BIOS bin file update that bricked my laptop.

Thread merged with LA-E802P topic. What you have posted are the bios updates from HP support. What we need in order to help you is your bios backup from the bios chip on the motherboard. To make the backup you will need an SPI bios programmer.

So I messed up, I flashed a BIOS I found online (DKL50 LA-E802P REV 1.0 2017-06-23 216-0867071 BIOS), the PC starts but the model, SN and everything else have changed, how do I make a backup if the chip has been rewritten? 🤦
